O município de Itabela registrou no ano de 2020 1.156 casos de pessoas infectadas pelo novo coronavirus, causador da covid-19, com 25 óbitos no total. Já nos primeiros dias do ano de 2021 os números assustam, até esta terça-feira, dia 09, já são 276 novos casos de pessoas contaminadas e o número de óbitos já chega 16, representando 64% do total de óbitos ocorridos durante o ano inteiro de 2020. O número total de casos confirmados no município, desde o início da pandemia, já chega a 1.432, com 41 óbitos.

De acordo com dados do Sistema Informações sobre Orçamentos Públicos em Saúde – SIOPS, o município de Itabela já utilizou R$ 4,9 milhões no combate ao novo coronavirus. Deste total, R$ 2,33 milhões com assistência hospitalar e ambulatorial, mais R$ 2,16 milhões com o sistema de atenção básica.
O número de casos cresce de forma acelerada, a população fica acuada e os recursos continuam “evaporando”, sem oferecer resultados eficazes.
